Weekend Getaway!

For Scott's birthday I got him tickets to see this comedian that we like, Jim Gaffigan, in Austin...so on noon on Thursday we headed to Austin to spend the night. We stopped off at Baylor so Kelly could see the Bears and get a special treat from the bookstore...she chose a frog wearing a Baylor shirt and was thrilled with the purchase. We walked through the new bear habitat a couple of times before heading on to Austin.

"Sic 'em Bears"!!!!

In Austin my friend Carrie (Ashley's sister, Nathan's aunt) offered to watch Kelly while we went to dinner and to the show and let us spend the night...Kelly had so much fun with Carrie! Here are some of their highlights:

Art project for Mommy...Kelly loves to glue so Carrie cut out hearts and they glued them on paper...

Kelly and Carrie made cookies before dinner...Carrie said Kelly kept sneaking bites of dough!

While the cookies cooked they ate their dinner...one of Kelly's favorites, spaghetti! At some point in the dinner she lost her shirt...I think that was easier than continuing to get sauce all over it!

Once their cookies had cooled, they frosted them and added sprinkles...as you can see, Kelly enjoyed frosting the cookies!

Kelly displaying her masterpieces...Carrie said she kept sticking her fingers in the icing for a little taste!

After a nice bath Kelly did some coloring before watching part of the Polar Express with Carrie...we just got that book and read it ever night so she enjoyed seeing part of the movie.

Bedtime! What a little sweetie...she announced to Carrie that she was ready to say her prayers and off they went to bed! Thanks Mrs. Carrie for watching Kelly and doing so many fun things with her!
Friday morning we got up and headed to Houston to visit Scott's parents. Cindy, Scott's mom, is president of the Kingwood Garden Club this year and was in charge of their Christmas Home Tour. I got to go with her and check out the homes they had decorated for Christmas...everything was so wonderful! Unfortunately, my camera battery had died in Austin so we don't have any pictures of our fun time with Mia and Dude! :( We also got to see Scott's Grandmother, Aunt Sharon and Uncle Dick and Scott's cousin Katie and her family...including new baby Charlotte (3mo.). She and her big brother Finley were so precious!

Oh, I had sooo much fun with Kelly! She was the sweetest thing ever. Boy, is she a talker! We had lots of fun baking, eating dinner, coloring, then saying our prayers. My favorite was when she was finished saying her prayers, she looked at me and said, "O.k., bye." It was so cute! Oh and tell Mammy and Pappy that Kelly invited me to their house!
