Our First Family Vacation!

We just got back from Panama City Beach, FL, and had a great time...here are some of the highlights!

Kelly in the car...she's listening to her Kindermusik CD's! :)

We were supposed to have gone with our friends Jeff and Lori and their three boys, but their middle son broke his foot right before we were supposed to leave so they had to bow out. Scott's parents went with us instead and we had a great time! Steve and Cindy met us at the condo on Saturday, the 9th...we all got there around suppertime, so we didn't go to the beach that day...our first day on the beach was Sunday, and it was a great beach day! I was so excited that the weather wasn't very hot...most of the time the highs were in the mid-upper 80's...after several weeks of over 100 in Dallas, that felt like Fall! :)

Kelly got all dolled up for the beach...I quickly discovered that her adorable tutu swimsuit was not the best idea...all those layers of tulle were covered with seaweed before long! The seaweed wasn't too bad that morning, but there was enough to get caught all in her skirt...

Kelly in the ocean...the water was really shallow pretty far out, so she was able to play easily...

That night we went out to dinner in this little shopping area that had boutiques and restuarants...and of course we had to ride the train!

The next day, Monday, I woke up with a stomach virus so we don't have any pictures from that day...thankfully Kelly didn't get sick! Scott got a mild touch of it, but other than that everyone else stayed healthy!

On Tuesday the storms came in and we decided to head out and see the sights that morning. We came across The Treasure Ship and knew that was the perfect place for our little pirate to have lunch. There were several deck levels and at night they had "pirates" roaming around.

That afternoon the rain stopped long enough to go swimming in the pool (the beach was closed due to the rough surf) so we went to the pool and splash park...it was so cold! The wind was blowing so hard and without any sun out it was really chilly!

Side note...she is wearing her flotation swimsuit AND her floaties AND her ring because she insisted on it...I just knew that everyone there would think I was some freak mother who insisted on every floation apparatus imaginable! :)

That night we went out to eat at this great Italian restaurant...Kelly had the fettucini alfredo and you would have thought she had died and gone to heaven. She ate the entire portion, plus calamari as an appetizer...she was so giddy eating her dinner that we had to take a picture.

We were also back in the shopping area with the train so guess what Kelly got to do again??? This time she chose the red car...she thought she was so hot riding that train!

Thursday we spent some time at the beach...the weather was nice, but the water was still off limits due to rough surf...so we took some time to build some sandcastles!

Kelly and Daddy in front of the sand castle that Dude and Mia built...it's Ariel's castle if you ask Kelly...

Friday morning we decided to go to Gulf World, which is a little local "SeaWorld" of sorts...it was great for Kelly...small, the shows were short, and she really had a good time. I'll spare everyone the pictures of the fish, sharks, etc. Kelly really got a kick out of putting her face into the picture boards...

And then, the highlight of the entire trip, during the "Extreme High Dive Show" Kelly got the meet a mermaid...she was so excited to go see her, but then got shy once we got down there...she did give the mermaid a "high five" which she is quick to tell you about! :)

On Friday afternoon, our last day, it was the perfect beach day...Kelly had so much fun playing in the sand and the water!

I am so glad you all liked the condo....we thought it was great for kids! Give Kelly love from Boppa, and we hope to see you in Dallas in a few weeks.
